A paranormal partnership has formed between Bethesda, Tango Gameworks, and Laced Records to bring the dark Japanese electronic music of Ghostwire: Tokyo to vinyl.

Tango aimed to reflect the juxtaposition of modernity and history in Tokyo, where neon skyscrapers and historic temples coexist. Composer Masatoshi Yanagi aimed to express this unique playing world using the three wind instruments of Gagaku (ancient Japanese court music): shō, hichiriki, and ryuteki (dragon flute). He also explored traditional instruments such as the shakuhachi (bamboo flute) and chappa (cymbals), as well as traditional musical scales. These elements are combined with modern, dark synth sounds and distorted waveforms.

Singer EvE performs the disturbing children's songs that punctuate several of the disc's sides, giving the entire score a childlike character.

All 60 tracks have been specially mastered for vinyl and will be pressed on thick vinyl, on vinyl blacker than the Tokyo night sky. They come in printed inner sleeves that in turn fit into a deluxe hardshell box. The cover art, by the team at Tango Gameworks, combines cutting-edge graphic design with Japanese folk horror.
