Laced Records (as neutral as possible) continues its fantastical journey with the other members of the Gearbox Entertainment group (chaotically good, naturally) to give the epiiiiiiiiiiic music of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands a wonderful wax treatment.

This double LP box set contains records that are “black as the starry night.” Forged by Butt Stallion’s finest sonic forge, 23 tracks have been dusted with aural pixie dust and carefully pressed onto heavy-gauge vinyl. The deluxe double gatefold sleeve, covered in metallic pink foil, features artwork by Gearbox artists.

Gearbox’s in-house composer Joshua Carro has brought his experience as an experimental creator and globetrotter to the chaotic realms of Wonderlands. The score briefly threatens the more traditional fantasy genre, drawing the listener in with grand, bright celebratory themes, before twisting and turning, taking listeners to unexpected places. Unusual and unsettling rhythms and textures are woven together to create a dense and sophisticated sound world, where strands of minimalism, folk, rock, generative music, IDM, drone, world music, romanticism, aleatoric, modern, and “noise” music can be heard. Strange uses of percussion, piano, synths, strings, and more intrude like sinister messengers, as Carro charts a new course for Borderlands soundtracks and fantasy video games.
