R-Type Delta HD Boosted Full Force Edition SWITCH

R-Type Delta HD Boosted: the return of a cult shoot 'em up!

RETURN OF A TIMELESS CLASSIC
Since its international success in 1998, R-Type Delta has been considered one of the best shoot 'em ups of all time. Now, 27 years later, history repeats itself with R-Type Delta HD Boosted. With its polished levels, three playable ships, powerful Delta weapons, and the incredible Force module, this new edition proves that cult classics of this caliber are truly timeless.

If you played R-Type Delta back in the day, this is the perfect opportunity to dive back into its grim science-fiction world. And if you know nothing about this essential game in video game history, this is your chance to change that.

MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN EVER
R-Type Delta HD Boosted boasts high-resolution graphics that elevate this PlayStation masterpiece to a whole new level. Experiencing R-Type Delta in high definition is a completely new experience. This version of the game also includes a new Training Mode for those who want to hone their skills before taking to the skies!

NEW SOUNDTRACK BY HÜLSBECK, ISHIDA AND THE USP SOUND TEAM
The musical atmosphere of R-Type Delta has always been one of its strong points. The HD Boosted version includes new music tracks composed by Masahiko Ishida (R-Type II, Image Fight), the USP sound team (who composed the music for the original game in 1998), and Chris Hülsbeck. Hülsbeck is, of course, an iconic composer in the video game industry, having previously worked on R-Type for the Commodore 64 and Amiga. The new soundtrack for R-Type Delta HD Boosted is truly extraordinary!

ENVIRONMENTAL NARRATIVE
Another defining characteristic of R-Type Delta is its dark and gloomy atmosphere. Shoot 'em ups aren't usually known for their narratives, but R-Type Delta HD Boosted excels in this area thanks to its minimalist environmental storytelling, typical of the late 90s. While the narrative is captivating and thrilling, it's also unsettling and anxiety-inducing. And all of this is achieved without dialogue.

MEANING OF DELTA
The term "Delta" has several meanings. First, the Greek letter delta resembles a triangle, a geometric shape with as many sides as there are ships in the game. Coincidence? It's also the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet, and R-Type Delta is the fourth installment in the R-Type series. Finally, the delta triangle is the most basic polygon, which makes sense when you consider that R-Type Delta was the first game in the series to use 3D polygonal graphics instead of 2D sprites.

SCENARIO
2163. The R9 Arrowhead fighter returns to Earth in very poor condition after its mission to destroy the Bydo Empire. The ship is rescued by the armored cruiser Croque-Monsieur before being transported to an orbiting space station. A year later, while astronomers in Central Asia observe mysterious objects falling from the sky, all contact with the orbital annihilation platform Moritz-G is lost. A cutting-edge machine, capable of destroying an entire planet, crashes into a city, leveling it completely. Even though its destructive weapons have not yet been activated, its advanced defense systems make Moritz-G impossible to approach. A last-ditch military operation is launched, and the prototype R9aII Delta is deployed to resolve the situation. Thus begins the epic battle that is R-Type Delta!
