19 specially remastered tracks by Sonic Mayhem and Jer Sypult will be pressed on thick discs. Cover art is by id Software, with character art by Jason Williford.
The bulk of the soundtrack was created by Sascha Dikiciyan aka Sonic Mayhem - his first gaming project in an enviable list of credits. After catching the attention of id Software with an unofficial Quake album (alongside production partner Dave Valencia), Sonic Mayhem and id Software developed Quake II's signature aggro-industrial metal sound, inspired in part by Metallica. The endlessly repeated, deadly riffs drive players through the Strogg city and beyond, with a trail of game in their wake. Jer Sypult's "Climb" rounds out the selection with its industrial groove.
