Winter 1992. To save her, two special agents from the Diamond Dogs, Ryō Shijima and Maria Tobari, must infiltrate the mind of a young girl who has become a “sinker,” trapped in her mind in the virtual world of a “D Movie.”

What horrors will you encounter in the depths of her psyche?

In this twisted world combining fantasy and madness, you must venture through six levels and help her escape this dream before her physical body dies, or risk dying with her!

In the 1980s, a new form of entertainment called “D Movie” began to spread, allowing people to immerse themselves in a virtual world and often attracting socially alienated young people seeking refuge.

Some people remained trapped in this world, unable to free themselves, a situation leading to the atrophy of their bodies and their death. To combat these cases called “sinkers,” the Japanese Public Safety Commission created Public Security Division 4 in 1984, also known as “Diamond Dogs.” Special agents would enter the virtual world to rescue these lost souls.

In 1992, a teenager named Yūki Sayaka sank into a D Movie and three days passed before she was discovered. Two debuggers, Ryō Shijima and Maria Tobari, are sent to save her mind before she dies.

Psycho Dream remained a title exclusively available in Japan for almost thirty years, until it was added to Nintendo Classics’ SNES digital catalog in February 2021.
