Description
SONIC celebrates its 35th anniversary with 2 SEGA GENESIS collector cartridges!
To say Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was highly anticipated is an understatement. A year after the original game's release, fans worldwide were clamoring for new adventures from the "Blue Blur" and his lightning-fast exploits.
Of course, when Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was released in November 1992, it exceeded all their wildest expectations. Packed with new levels, improved gameplay featuring the "spin dash," and cutting-edge 3D effects, arguably the most significant addition to the series' universe was Sonic's companion, a brave young fox named Tails.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is undeniably one of those rare sequels that raises the bar even higher while fully building upon the foundations laid by its predecessor. It is a monumental achievement in itself, and quite simply one of the best games of its generation.
Today, 35 years later, iam8bit and SEGA team up to celebrate Sonic and Tails' immense impact on the video game universe through a unique commemoration.
Introducing the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 35th Anniversary "Legacy" Cartridge, a fully playable and meticulously crafted edition of the legend that started it all.
It comes in a stunning translucent "Two Tail Amber" cartridge, packaged in a fold-out foil-stamped slipcover with decorative embellishments.
Additionally, you'll find a premium full-color instruction booklet, exactly the kind you would open and devour on the way home after buying it in a store.
